Annual Report 2018 of the University of Kassel published

The report contains information on development in the areas of research, study and teaching, knowledge transfer, internationalization as well as equality and personnel development, among others. In an interview, University President Prof. Dr. Reiner Finkeldey and Chancellor Dr. Oliver Fromm comment on the dynamic development of the University of Kassel. The importance of the university in their lives is illuminated by seven portraits in which young scientists, professors, founders and students have their say.

In addition, the report contains important figures, for example on the number of students, the budget or the development of so-called third-party funds. For example, the number of international students increased once again in 2018, to 3,359 (13.2 percent). A year earlier, the number was 3,211. The increase in master's students is also related to a notable extent to demand from abroad. A total of exactly 25,351 students were enrolled in the 2018/2019 winter semester, slightly fewer than a year earlier (25,538).

The amount of third-party funding, i.e. funds raised to finance research at the University of Kassel, also increased, to now 60.7 million euros (2017: 60.5 million euros). The number of doctorates increased significantly from 224 (2017) to 240.
