Rowers prevail in February Lockdown Challenge

In January, the university rowing team of the University of Marburg called the February Challenge and thus encouraged the university rowing teams to participate in different sporting activities in February. A total of seven teams and 112 participants* took part in the Challenge.

Each week, the participants could choose between different sports such as cycling or running and track their activities with their smartphones.

The second week was particularly challenging, as it involved collecting meters of altitude. The Kassel rowing team eventually achieved more than 8000 meters of altitude, for which they climbed over 1600 floors, among other things. In the third week, participants could choose between the disciplines 1000 m ergometer rowing, 1000 m running or 2000 m cycling for the sprint.

In the last week, longer distances such as 30 km cycling were on the agenda for the participants*. The participants* spared no effort and in the end came out ahead of Münster in second place and Bremen and Kiel in third place.
