Welcome to the university Prof. Dr. Adrian Mellage!

Dr. Adrian Mellage became head of the new Hydrogeology department in April. His research at the interface between hydrogeology, biogeochemistry and geophysics focuses on the further development of geo-electrical methods and models for the non-invasive observation and quantification of mass transport processes in groundwater. The geo-electrical alternative to groundwater sampling enables better access to the subsurface and thus to the dynamic reaction processes that determine groundwater quality. Adrian Mellage was an academic advisor at the Center for Applied Geosciences at the University of Tübingen and received his doctorate from the University of Waterloo (Canada) in 2018. He received the W.B. Pearson Medal for innovative research for his doctoral thesis.
