Renovation of the library at the Wilhelmshöher Allee site completed

The barrier-free entrance to the library has been relocated, making it more visible and easier to reach. The service desk is also now located in the direct vicinity of the new entrance area. New glass doors increase transparency and clarity, and additional cabling creates optimal technical conditions at the reading stations.

The new learning room concept implements the key requirements for today's learning environments, such as the clear separation of communicative from quiet areas for concentrated work. The spacious entrance and service counter area is intended for research and consultation, for picking up and borrowing media. Separate from this, in other rooms, are the quiet individual workstations, workbays, and a large, acoustically enclosed group study room. Optimization of the inventory arrangement has also made it possible to set up an additional periodicals room, which invites users to read current printed journals. The building owner for this measure was the University of Kassel.

Another improvement is about to be implemented: It is expected that the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Library will be open beyond normal opening hours during the current summer semester. Registered library users will then have access to the library regardless of whether or not staff are on site.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
