The university is on the move

The 20th sports and health day "Uni in Bewegung" of the University of Kassel took place for the first time on June 21 at the boathouse. Around the multifunctional building, the university's General University Sports presented a varied and attractive program in glorious sunshine.

An absolute highlight this year was the exercise course. There was a real "run" of participants to the numerous stations. Everyone tried to collect as many stamps as possible in order to get one of the attractive prizes at the end. The traditional team half marathon, in which 12 ambitious teams took part, was just as popular.

The bouncy castle also delighted young and old alike, and next door at the bungee run, participants engaged in entertaining duels.

In the boathouse, interested listeners were able to attend lectures on the topics of "moving breaks" and "sleep". In addition, the Streck-DICH health project offered a bio-impedance analysis (BIA). Visitors were able to have their body composition determined.  Between the presentations, exercise instructor Lukas made the participants sweat with a strength-endurance circuit.

After a gripping preliminary round in the pull-up contest, a total of seven participants made it to the final round. The finalists competed in an exciting head-to-head race for the annual membership at UNIfit. After two jump-offs, Annika was the winner and Igor the winner against the competition. On the stage it remained exciting: directly afterwards the challenge on the rowing ergometer took place. Via a screen the spectators could follow live who was ahead.

Those who needed a cooling down took part in the water sports offer on the Fulda. In addition to rowing boats and kayaks, there were also courses for beginners on stand-up paddleboards. After a short introduction by our instructors we went out on the water.

On land there was also a varied offer from the course area. Despite the hot temperatures, Lisa and Leonie managed to motivate their participants to top performance in Jumping Fitness. In addition, there were trial offers in the sports "Roundnet" and "Discgolf". The salsa class in the evening provided a successful conclusion.

We would like to thank Techniker Krankenkasse, who rounded off the program with physio coaching and the smoothie bike, as well as Studierendenwerk, which provided visitors with delicious food and drinks throughout the day.
