The bachelor's degree program "Vocational Pedagogy Subject Health" is a cooperative degree program of the University of Applied Sciences Fulda with the University of Kassel.
Students in the new bachelor's program are primarily enrolled at Fulda University of Applied Sciences, where they study such subjects as human biology basics or health promotion strategies. In Kassel, they take a second subject and the educational science core course. A one-year internship or relevant vocational training is mandatory. Optionally, students in this program can prepare to become teachers at health care colleges or in the state school service. The bachelor's degree is followed by a corresponding master's degree in "Vocational Health Education", which is also offered by the University of Kassel together with Fulda University of Applied Sciences. This master's degree qualifies students for a traineeship as a teacher in the subject of health at vocational schools or high schools. There are no comparable teacher training programs in Hesse to date.
