The Bachelor's degree course "Vocational Education in Health" is a cooperative degree course between Fulda University of Applied Sciences and the University of Kassel.
Students on the new Bachelor's degree course are primarily enrolled at Fulda University of Applied Sciences, where they study subjects such as human biology and health promotion strategies. In Kassel, they take a second subject and the core course in educational science. A one-year internship or relevant vocational training is compulsory. Students on this course can choose to prepare for a teaching career at specialist schools in the healthcare sector or in the state education service. The Bachelor's degree course is followed by a corresponding Master's degree course in "Vocational Education in Health", which the University of Kassel also offers together with Fulda University of Applied Sciences. This Master's qualifies students for a teaching traineeship in the subject of health at vocational schools or grammar schools. There are currently no comparable teacher training courses in Hesse.
