The "KulturA" program is an integrated degree program sponsored by the Franco-German University, developed in consultation with the partner university in Angers, France. The partnerships enable students to have an intensive exchange with students of the same year from Angers, support for a one-year stay abroad at the partner university and, after successful completion of the studies, the awarding of three degrees:

- the Licence-Diploma, mention Langues, Littératures et Civilisations Étrangères et Régionales LLCER parcours Anglais of the Université d'Angers,

- the Licence-Diploma, mention Langues, Littératures et Civilisations Étrangères et Régionales LLCER parcours Allemand of the Université d'Angers,

- Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in International Language and Cultural Education from the University of Kassel.

Application and admission

Prerequisite: Students of the Bachelor "International Language and Cultural Mediation" with compulsory subject French and compulsory elective subject English or German can apply for this program.

Application deadline: By December 15 of each year in the first semester of your studies by email to Céline Wieders-Lohéac.

Documents: Curriculum vitae and letter of motivation in both German and French, as well as your high school diploma.

Procedure: After submitting the documents, interviews will take place in January. The selection criteria are motivation, language level and grade of the baccalaureate certificate.

Study structure

Students can start their studies in Angers in September and in Kassel in October of each year at their home university. Students from Angers/France come to Kassel in their second year of study. The 5th and 6th semesters are obligatory for Kassel students to spend abroad at the partner university in Angers.
The modules are fixed, which is why the achievements can be transferred into the German grading system.

Study abroad at the partner university in Angers

Students receive a mobility grant/scholarship from the DFH for the respective phase abroad. This scholarship can be combined with other scholarships (e.g. Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Cusanuswerk etc.) as well as with the German BaföG and the French equivalent.
