Dr. Anna Lena Jung began her scientific career in 2007 at the Philipps-Universität Marburg, where she studied Human Biology at both Bachelor's and master's degree. She then completed her doctorate in 2016 at the Institute for Lung Research at the Philipps-Universität Marburg on the topic "Influence of outer membrane vesicles of /Legionella pneumophila/ on bacterial replication in macrophages".

During her doctorate in 2015, she successfully completed the international graduate program "Molecular Biology and Medicine of the Lung" in Giessen.

After her doctorate, Anna Lena Jung continued her scientific career as an employee at the Institute of Lung Research. Since 2020, she is both head of a junior research group at the Department of Medicine as well as co-head of the Core Facility "Bacterial Vesicles".

As a junior research group leader, Anna Lena Jung is a member of the Young Faculty

Network and an elected postdoctoral member of the MARA Board of Directors.
